SPECIALIZATION
- Fashion buyers and assistant buyers select and purchase apparel and accessories from designers,
manufacturers or wholesalers for retail sale to customers.
- Merchandise managers select, purchase, promote and sell clothing and accessories for a retail store,
department, division or chain.
- Fashion coordinators, fashion directors and merchandise planners create a unified look and feel
across all fashion divisions of a department store, design house or fashion magazine.
- Visual merchandisers, window dressers and merchandise displayers conceptualize, design
and implement windows and in-store displays for both online and brick and mortar retail stores.
- Retail store managers are high-level employees responsible for overseeing all aspects of a store's
operations. They approve visual displays, print and TV ads, ordering merchandise inventory, setting up price policies, hiring,
training and firing employees.
- Boutique owners own their own small stores catering to very specific target customers. They oversee
all aspects of their stores, from planning and purchasing inventory to setting up store displays and hiring employees.
